That is just what we offer here at Hillcrest Park. We can help you create your own bespoke holiday lodge, where you can kick back and enjoy the panoramic countryside views at the drop of a hat.
Hillcrest Park is ideally located on the end of the Yorkshire Dales, nestled in glorious countryside between Richmond and Barnard Castle but only 20mins from Scotch Corner. We are blessed with great eateries in local villages and even a Michelin starred restaurant a short drive away. The River Tees and the Teesdale way are 1/4mile away, and ideal for walking your four legged friends (yes, we're dog friendly too!). So if you are looking for a truly rural retreat, yet within easy distance of the A66/A1 and other amenities, we're ideal.
We have a 12 month leisure licence and prices (including siting, transport, connections and decking) range between £120,000 - £180,000
Invest in yourself, and get just what you want - in an idyllic, tranquil setting
We are ideal for walkers, cyclists, dog owners or anyone just looking for a relaxing, rural break. Hillcrest is situated handily close to both Richmond and Barnard Castle, within easy reach of many Dales attractions, as well as the historic cities of Durham and York. Further afield, both the Lakes and Yorkshire coastline are all within easy reach.
The area is something of a hidden gem, offering much to see and do close by .There is something for everyone, for the adventurous you can try alpaca trekking with Teesdale Alpacas, or if you prefer more luxury you can try spa experiences at either Headlam Hall or The Morritt Arms. There are leadmines at Killhope, waterfalls at High Force and Low Force, falconry displays at Walworth Castle Birds of Prey, walking or cycling in woodland at Hamsterley Forest, or get a real sense of history at Raby Castle (which you can see from the Poddery) or, less than an hour away is the wonderful outdoor museum at Beamish
In the summer months, Auckland Castle put on a visually stunning night show called “Kynren – an epic tale of England”. This open-air theatrical extravaganza depicts 2,000 years of British history, from the Roman and Viking invasions through to the second world war, in a 7½ acre arena.
Hillcrest is a mile or so away from the villages of Ovington, Winston and Caldwell, each of which has its own pub/restaurant. In Caldwell, The Brownlow Arms has an extensive menu, from bar meals and snacks to a full on Sunday roast, and is dog friendly. The Bridgewater Arms at Winston is a converted school offering very high quality food, and specialising in seafood. A short drive away you’ll find Fernaville’s Rest at Whorlton, which is also dog friendly and serves top notch food – their Sunday lunches are legendary, but make sure you book to avoid disappointment.
As dog lovers, we think it is important that all the family enjoy their holiday together so our park is completely dog friendly.
The lodge park at Hillcrest is a brand new, exclusive development for those wanting to own their very own holiday home in the UK. As a great base for exploring we attract people from all walks of life including couples and families. Our lodges come with a private driveway with space for 2 vehicles, decking and 12 month leisure use. On site we have a shop and CCTV covers the site for security.
